The app sees fans from around the world hunting for Invader mosaics and gaining points depending on which pieces they find. Each mosaic has an individual score allocated to it and photos or ‘Flashes’ are authenticated via your phones GPS. We nipped out to London last weekend to test the app. We managed 13 pieces, which saw us climb to a meagre 182nd place on the leaderboard.
Quite a bit has gone down since the last time we updated Invaderblog (sorry about that!). So we’re on the catch up!
First off, a few weeks ago, Invader placed this cool Picasso piece in Paris. It’s in a similar vein to the ‘Scream’ piece that went up earlier in the summer. Apparently, this is one of four new pieces that went up that night.
Pictures have been taken from Invaderwashere.
As we mentioned last week – Space Invader has been hitting Tokyo hard with a load of fresh new pieces going up in the Japanese capital. There are some really great pieces cropping up, including original Invaders and tiled versions of Japanese cult icons like Astroboy, Doraemon, Hello Kitty and Grendizer. It’s also been reported by Invader himself that a mini Mona Lisa piece has already disappeared, we’re hoping that’s not a sign of things to come.
If you follow Invaderwashere you would’ve seen the re-invasion of Tokyo taking place this week. There are some really great pieces going up, including a glow-in-the-dark Invader and tiled versions of Japanese cult icons Astroboy and Grendizer.
We’re only posting the one photo from Invaderwashere, so make sure you visit the Instagram account for all the photos. We’ll have more soon.
Space Invader has just produced the artwork for the new La Souris Deglinguee album. A little late on this, but the album was released with a limited edition print last week. A one off rubikcubist version is also available on ebay, with the proceeds going towards the French bands production costs.
